Boost your home’s value
Energy efficient homes are more desirable, making solar a smart investment that can increase your property value.

It is a common misconception that solar panels only work in hot countries, but the UK’s climate is actually ideal for high performance solar generation. Solar panels do not rely on heat, they rely on light, which means they continue to produce clean, low cost electricity even on cloudy or cooler days. In fact, solar panels operate more efficiently in lower temperatures, allowing them to perform consistently throughout the year.
For homeowners across the UK, this makes solar a reliable way to reduce energy bills and gain greater control over household energy use. When paired with battery storage and smart tariffs, you can store the energy you generate during daylight hours and use it whenever you need it, giving you long term savings and increased independence from rising grid prices.

How Do Solar Panels Work?
Solar panels may look like glass, but they’re made up of many cells from layers of semi-conducting material - typically silicon.
Here’s how they create energy: when light shines on the panel’s surface, an electricity flow is created. Contrary to popular belief, solar panels don’t need direct sunlight to work, they can generate energy on cloudy days.
Solar systems consist of several panels. Each panel can generate up to 355W of energy in direct, strong sunlight. The most common systems have 15 panels and generate direct current energy. An inverter is installed to convert DC in AC electricity as most household appliances use alternating current.
The electricity generated can be used in your home, or sold back to the grid.

Do I Have Enough Space on My Roof to Install Solar Panels?
The average solar system is around 4.2kWp, this requires 25m2 roof area. To maximize your output, you’ll need an unshaded South-facing roof. This doesn’t mean East or West facing roofs are unfeasible, but North facing roofs aren’t considered suitable.
Note - Solar systems facing East or West will generate 15-20% less energy than those facing South.
What If Parts Of My Roof Are Shaded?
Shaded areas on your roof, whether created by nearby buildings, chimneys, or trees, can reduce the output of solar panels.
Finding an unshaded spot is ideal - but don’t worry if you can’t find one, modern solar set ups can use power optimizers to get the most out of the sunlight they receive.

MCS Certified
MCS is a mark of quality. MCS aims to decarbonise heat and power in the UK’s homes by giving you confidence in home-grown energy.
Our membership of MCS demonstrates our adherence to these recognised industry standards, highlighting our installation quality, competency and compliance.
Save With Flexible Tariffs and Battery Storage
You can store the excess energy you generate during the day overnight in a battery. This is where solar panels really come into their own.
Next time there is a powercut you can simply use your battery energy supply, instead of reaching for the candles and a book.
Here’s the best news. With a battery you can buy and sell energy at the best price, by buying energy on the overnight tariff and storing it in your battery. Use energy generated from evening tariff energy the next day, and sell any surplus you don’t need back to the grid.
Battery storage systems can be linked to AI weather forecasts—this will leave energy reserves in your battery if the upcoming forecast is for low sunlight, so you’re never without an energy supply.
Ask us for support to join a tariff that allows you to buy energy when the price is low and sell at a higher price.
